EN | Like many compatriots, the Dutch-Cuban Yuri Capetillo Hardy fled Cuba at the age of nineteen. Away from the grip of Fidel, the poverty and the hopelessness. Fifteen years later, Cuba has changed and director Maaike de Gruyter takes Yuri back to his native country. She takes him to places that confront him with both his past and the changes in the present. How is life in the world's last "socialist utopia"? Does the increasingly less isolated island now offer perspective? And what do the Cubans themselves think about these developments?
